"Hume nahi aage badhana apna pariwar, maa."

["I don't want to move forward with starting a family, Maa."]

His mother looked at him strangely and asked surprisingly,

"Aisa kyu bol rahe ho beta?".

["Why are you saying this, beta?"]

He shook his head,

"Hum nahi seh sakte yeh dard. Hum khush hai bas Priya ke sath."

["I can't bear this pain. I'm happy just being with Priya."]

His mother smiled and caressed his head lightly,

"Hum maante hai humne shuru me zid Kiya.. par Abhigyan.. ab Hume pata hai zid kar ke bhi koi faida nahi hai.. hum itne din Zinda hi nahi rahenge ki pota poti ka muh dekh paye."

["I admit I was stubborn at first... but Abhigyan, now I know that being stubborn won't do any good... I won't live long enough to see my grandchildren's faces."]

He looked sadly and spoke, "Kya bakwas baatein kar rahi ho, maa."

["What nonsense are you talking, Maa?"]

She laughed.

But she continued slowly,

"Hum samajh rahe hai tumhare Mann me darr baith Gaya hai. Par tumhari bhi nayi shadi hai Abhigyan. Yeh sab kuch bahut jaldi ho gaya tumhari zindagi me. Isse aage toh badhna padega na beta?".

["I understand that fear has taken root in your heart. But your marriage is also new, Abhigyan. All this happened very quickly in your life. You have to move forward, right beta?"]

He nodded silently.

She spoke,

"Tumhari behen ke janam se pehle humara bhi garbhapat hua tha. Par dekho, Aaj tum dono swastha ho,khush ho, hai na?".

["Before your sister was born, I also had a miscarriage. But look, today both of you are healthy and happy, right?"]

He gulped and nodded his head.

"Bas.. kuch samay do.. khud ko .. Priya ko.. fir aage Jo hoga dekha jaega."

["Just give some time... to yourself... to Priya... then we'll see what happens next."]

He nodded his head.

"Chalo, Hume kamre me chor do humare, aaram karenge hum ab."

["Come, take me to my room, I'll rest now."]

He sat up on bed and replied,

"Yahi so jaiye na maa kuch der, raat ke khane ke baad chale jaiyega."

["Please sleep here for a while, Maa. You can leave after dinner."]

She nodded.

He helped her sleep on bed and then, he left her alone to take some rest after shutting the door.

Moving outside, he saw Priya in the kitchen.

Walking inside the kitchen,he snaked his hand from behind, around her waist, placing his chin on her shoulder.

She didn't startle, ofcourse, because she knew who else will hold her apart from her husband, yet she whisper-yelled,

"Kya kar rahe hai, Nupur hai bahar me, dekh legi."

["What are you doing? Nupur is outside, she'll see."]

He rubbed his cheek against her and kissed on her jaw, then replied,

"Batane aaye the aapko, maa so Rahi hai kamre me.. unhe dekh lijiyega.. aur hum bahar Jaa rahe hai.. raat ko deri se lautenge, yaa subhe bhi hojae."

["I came to tell you that maa is sleeping in our room... check on her... and I'm going out... I'll be back late at night or maybe even by morning."]

She nodded her head and turned back, only to hug him tightly and place a kiss on his shoulder. He hugged her back, more tightly and muttered,

"Khyal rakhna, bachha. Jyada kaam mat karna."

["Take care, bachha. Don't overwork, okay?"]

She nodded, "Jaldi aane ki koshish kijiyega."

["Try to come soon."]

He nodded and kissed her temple, then walked away.

***

It was night. Neither of the brother's were at home.

The ladies of the house had their dinner together today. It was so heartwarming for them.

After dinner, Nupur had asked her that she'll finish the leftover work, so Priya went to her room, to rest.

She changed her saree into light one and shifted to the bed. Covering herself with the blanket, she closed her eyes, missing her husband.

And soon, she fell asleep.

***

Priya felt someone. Someone beside her. Someone sucking her nipple.

Without opening her eyes, she caressed her palm over his head and spoke lazily,

"Raat ho rahi hai, ji. So jaate na."

["It's getting late, ji. You should sleep."]

He hummed, still sucking her nipple.

She remained quiet, letting him suck. He didn't bite her, neither sucked roughly. He was gentle. Just nibbling on her bud with his lips. She had already slept by then again.

After what seemed like hours, he finally slipped into a deep slumber.

***

She opened her eyes, only to find his head snuggled into her breasts and he was holding her waist tightly.

She feathered his cheek and placed her lips over his head.

She removed the blanket from above and noticed he wasn't wearing anything. Not a single cloth on his body. Blush crept her cheeks but she covered him again and caressed his back with her palm inside the blanket, whispering in his ear,

"Uth jaiye, Abhi."

He nodded in his sleep.

She hooked her blouse and placed the pallu back over her shoulder. She moved his hand away from her body. Leaning down, she stroked his hair once and spoke,

"Hum nahane ja rahe, uth jaiyega."

He grunted a humm.

She moved towards the cupboard and took out clothes for her as well as for him and placed his clothes on the chair.

Next, she moved towards the bathroom to finish her business.

When she returned back inside the room, he was sitting on the chair, running his fingers into his hair.

She locked the door.

Standing infront of the dressing table, she unwrapped her saree, only to wrap it again perfectly around her body.

He was staring her.

After finishing her touch-ups, she moved towards him and stood infront of him.

He held her forearm and made her sit on his lap.

She palmed his cheek and asked,

"Koi pareshani hai?".

He shook his head and placed his head against her chest. She wrapped her hands around his neck and hugged him tightly.

Feeling warmth.

Feeling each other's silence.

They broke the hug after minutes.

She held the side of his neck lightly and asked,

"Humara ek kaam kar denge, ji?".

He nodded, his eyes blinked.

She leaned a little forward and muttered in his ear,

"Humare ghar walon ko ek chitthi likh dijiyega humari taraf se. Ki hum theek hai, khush hai."

["Can you write a letter to my family from my side. That we are fine and happy."]

She moved back and he looked into her eyes.

Inhaling deeply, he asked in a low voice,

"Yeh bhi likh denge ki aap pet si thi?".

["Shall I also write that you were pregnant?"]

She shook her head,

"Pareshan ho jaenge."

He nodded.

After a pause he spoke,

"Yeh bhi likh denge ki aap unhe yaad kar rahi thi. Jald se jald Milne aaye humare gaon me."

["I'll also write that you were missing them. And that they should come to our village to meet us as soon as possible."]

She laughed without noise and nodded a bit. He smiled, palming her cheek and spoke,

"Aapko yaad aati hai unki toh hume bataya kariye, aapko le chalenge aapka jab bhi Mann kare."

["If you miss them, let me know, I'll take you to them whenever you want."]

She nodded her head and placed a kiss on his cheek.

She was stepping down from his lap when he held her more tightly, not allowing her to leave yet and hugged her tightly, placing his head on her shoulder.

She caressed his head and back with her palms.

He spoke silently,

"Bahut chahte hai hum aapko. Priya. Bahut jyada."

["I love you so much, Priya. So much."]

She replied in a low voice, still cheerful one,

"Hum bhi, Abhigyan."

["I love you too, Abhigyan."]

She heard his whimper, very low, but yes.

She tried to pull herself away but he didn't allowed her to. He kept on holding her tightly.

She gulped. Her eyes welled up.

She cooed,

"Aise nahi dekh sakte hum aapko, Abhi. Hum pyaar karte hai aapse. Taklif hoti hai hume."

["I can't see you like this, Abhi. I love you. It hurts me."]

He hummed, his chest heaved as he spoke,

"Zindagi me kabhi Aisa mehsus nahi hua hume, Priya. Kabhi nahi. Itne dard diye zindagi ne, fir bhi nahi. Par tumhe kuch ho jata, iss darr se humari jaan nikal jaati hai. Kya jadoo kar diya hai tumne hum par, hn?".

["I've never felt like this in my life, Priya. Never. Life has given me so much pain, yet never this. But if something would have happened to you, this fear takes away my life. What magic have you cast on me?"]

She laughed mutely, wiping her tears away and patted his back.

He loosened his grip and she moved away. She cupped his cheeks in her hands and kissed on his eyes one by one and then his forehead.

She kissed on his nose lightly and muttered,

"Jaadu toh aapne Hum par Kiya hai. Aisa jaduu ki hum samajh gaye hai, zindagi me koi bhi pareshani aa jae, aap hume humara haath pakre hue milenge humesha."

["You've worked magic on me. Such magic that I've understood, no matter what troubles come in life, you'll always hold my hand."]

He smiled and kissed on her shoulder.

She feathered his cheek once and then spoke,

"Ab hume jaane dijiye na, ji. Maa ji dhundhti hogi hume. Nupur bhi uth gayi hogi."

["Now let me go, ji. Maa ji must be looking for me. Nupur must have also woken up."]

He playfully winked and spoke,

"Baaki ka pyaar raat me?"

She laughed and slapped his chest lightly,

"Raat me itni der se laut kar aate hai aap.. aur baaki ka pyaar raat me jatayenge.. hn?"

["You come back so late at night... and the rest of the love you'll show at night... Hn?"]

He smirked, "Kyu? Yaad karti hai aap hume?"

She sensually rubbed her cheek against his beardy cheek and replied in his ear, in low voice,

"Aapne kitne dinon se hume pyaar nahi Kiya, Abhigyan."

He let out a soft and playful laugh,

"Pyaar toh hum aapse Roj hi karte, Priya."

Leaning in, she whispered in his ear, tracing his lips with her index finger lightly,

"Woh pyaar nahi na, aap hume cherh rahe hai, Abhigyan? Jab ki aap sab samajhte hai."

["Not that love! You're teasing me, Abhigyan? Even though you understand everything."]

He licked her index finger, and whispered back,

"Hum kyu cherhenge aapko. Aap saaf shabdon me samjhaengi hume toh ho sakta hai hum samajh jae."

["Why would I tease you? If you'll explain to me in clear words, maybe I'll understand."]

She felt a little shy, but she moved a little back, and placed a kiss just on the corner of his mouth and brushed her lips over his skin, whispering,

"Aap baatein ghumayenge toh hum aapse baat nahi karenge."

["Now if you turn the tables, I won't talk to you."]

He chuckled,

"Acha? Thik hai, par badle me hume bhi kuch chahiye na, Priya?"

["Okay? Fine, but in return, I want something too, Priya?"]

She narrowed her eyes, "Kya?"

He smiled and traced his thumb over her bottom lip, sensually,

"Shuruwat aap karengi, hum nahi."

["You'll start, not me."]

"Yeh kaun si baat Hui, Abhigyan," she hit his chest shyly, and stood up from his lap, "Hum nahi kar rahe aisa kuch."

He held her wrist and pulled her back, holding her from behind he made her sit on his lap again, and kissed her neck,

"Nahi karengi toh hum bhi kuch nahi karenge. Soch kar rakhiyega kya karna hai. Filhal hume bhi deri ho rahi, aapko bhi."

["If you don't do it, I won't do anything either. Think about what you want to do. Right now, I'm also getting late, and so are you."]

She stood up again, and this time he let her go. While moving outside she said, so shyly,

"Naha lijiye.. aur.. hum nahi maan-ne Wale aapki baat."

["Take a bath... and... I won't agree to what you're saying."]

He shouted behind her, almost laughing,

"Woh raat ko dekh lenge, Priya."

["That we'll see at night, Priya."]
