30. Four months later

Nanha sa gul khilega angna

Sooni bainyaan sajegi sajna

Jaise khele chanda baadal mein

Khelega vo tere aanchal mein

Chandaniya gungunayegi

Chandaniya gungunayegi

Tabhi to chanchal hain tere naina, dekho naa...

Four months later.

The sun rose gently over the village, casting a golden hue across the fields that stretched like an endless canvas of green and gold.

Dew glistened on the leaves, and the air was filled with the sweet fragrance of blooming marigolds.

Inside their traditional home, Priya sat by the window, her fingers tracing the delicate fabric of her saree, her heart fluttering with joy and anticipation.

Four months had passed since the day that changed everything—a day when her world spun on a different axis.

Priya closed her eyes, allowing herself to drift back to that moment.

It was a warm afternoon, the kind that wrapped around her like a comforting embrace.

She had fainted that noon suddenly while working in the kitchen along with. Nupur.

Nupur had informed Abhisar who immediately called Dai-maa to check her. Abhigyan reached too.

The old dai-maa had arrived.

“Badi bahu.”

“Priya,” the dai-maa had said, her eyes twinkling like the stars that graced the night sky.

“Badi bahu maa banne wali hai.”

“She is going to be a mother.”

The words hung in the air, and for a moment, time itself seemed to pause. Priya had gasped, a hand instinctively flying to her mouth, her heart racing.

Abhigyan, who had been pacing nervously, turned to her, his expression of disbelief and elation.

When their eyes met, a shared understanding sparked between them, igniting a joy that surged through the room.

“Sach?”

“Really?” Abhigyan had asked, his voice barely above a whisper, as if speaking too loudly might shatter the magic of the moment.

Dai-maa nodded, her smile wide and reassuring.

That night, as they lay beneath the blanket of stars, Abhigyan had held her close, his heart full of hopes and dreams for their child.

Yet, amidst the excitement, a shadow lingered in his eyes—a reminder of their past loss.

Priya recalled how he had brushed his fingers over her belly, as if sensing the life that was just beginning, yet she could feel his tension.

The memory of her previous miscarriage still haunted them both, an uninvited ghost in their happiness.

Now, as she sat there, cradling her growing belly, Priya could feel the small fluttering movements of their baby.

She smiled softly, the worry that had once etched lines of concern on her husband’s brow now replaced with a more profound determination to protect her.

Abhigyan had become her pillar, ensuring she was always comfortable, attending to her every need with a tenderness that deepened their bond.

Abhisar and Nupur, her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, had stepped in to help as well, treating her like a queen in this delicate phase of her life. Nupur often arrived with baskets of fresh fruits, insisting Priya eat well for the baby's sake.

Abhisar would tell tales of their childhood, filling the air with laughter, reminding them all of the joys of family.

Together, they made the home feel alive with love and warmth.

Yet, Priya knew Abhigyan bore the weight of his fears silently.

She recalled how he would often linger by the window at night, staring into the darkness as if searching for answers.

She understood his worry, it was a part of his nature to protect those he loved fiercely. But she also knew that this time, they would be different.

Together, they would navigate this new chapter, hand in hand.

As the morning sun poured into the room, illuminating every corner,

Priya placed a hand on her belly, feeling a gentle kick.

“Tumhe sab bahut pyaar karenge,”

“You’re going to be so loved,” she whispered, her heart swelling with hope.

With every heartbeat, she felt the pulse of their future—the life they were nurturing together.

Her gaze drifted to the vibrant garden outside, where the flowers danced in the breeze. Each petal seemed to celebrate the promise of new beginnings.

Priya took a deep breath, inhaling the sweet scent of life, feeling an unwavering sense of peace wash over her.

They had weathered storms, but now, they stood on the brink of something beautiful.

With a smile, she turned her thoughts back to Abhigyan.

He would rise soon, and she could already envision the way his eyes would light up upon seeing her.

Abhigyan stirred awake, feeling the warmth of the sun against his skin.

His gaze fell on Priya, who sat by the window, her silhouette framed by the gentle light.

She was lost in thought, gazing out at the lush greenery that surrounded their village, the world outside bursting with life.

Quietly, he slipped out of bed, his heart swelling at the sight of her.

The way her hair cascaded down her shoulders, how the morning light danced upon her skin—it took his breath away. Moving silently, he approached her, a smile creeping onto his face.

Wrapping his arms around her waist from behind, he pulled her close, feeling the familiar comfort of her presence.

Priya didn’t flinch, she melted against him, the warmth of his body enveloping her like a cocoon. She smiled softly, a smile he could sense even without seeing her face.

“Itni jaldi uth gayi Aaj aap, jaan.”

“You woke up early today, my love,” he whispered, kissing the top of her head, inhaling the sweet scent of her hair.

It was a scent that felt like home, grounding him in a way nothing else could.

“Um-hm.. hawa achhi chal rahi na.”

“Um-hm.. The breeze is good,” she replied, her voice a soft melody, laced with warmth and affection.

“Hum nihaar rahe the, humara gaon kitna khubsurat dikhta hai, subhe ki raushni mein, hai na?”

“I was just admiring how beautiful our village looks in the morning light.”

Abhigyan chuckled, gently turning her around to face him.

“Nazara khubsurat toh hai, magar aapse kam. Aapki khubsurti ke saamne kuch nahi yeh.”

“You know, the view is lovely, but it pales in comparison to you,” he teased, his eyes sparkling with mischief. He brushed a loose strand of hair behind her ear, his fingers lingering on her cheek.

“Itni tarif Hume shobha nahi deti aajkal.”

“Flattery doesn't suits me these days,” Priya teased back, her eyes twinkling with playfulness.

“Par hum sach bol rahe, bahar ka sansaar rangin aur zindagi se bhara hai...bilkul humare pyaar ki tarah, hai na?”

“But I’m serious; the world outside is vibrant and full of life, much like the love we have.”

Her words struck a chord deep within him. “Yes.”

Abhigyan's heart swelled with emotion as he took her hands in his.

“Aap janti hai? Aap kitni khubsurat hai Priya? Aaj kal toh aur bhi khubsurat lagti hai aap.”

"Do you know? You’re so beautiful, Priya. These days, you look even more beautiful."

“Majak kar rahe hai aap humare sath?”

He chuckled, “Kyu karenge hum majak?”

“Moti ho gaye hai hum, aur aap hume khubsurat bana rahe.”

He placed a kiss on the back of her head, “Aap nahi jaanti yeh ... baadlav aap par kitna jach Raha hai. Maa bankar aur kitni khubsurat lagengi aap bhagwan hi jaane.”

"You don’t know how well this change suits you. Only God knows how beautiful you'll look when you become a mother."

“Bas, ji. Aap bhi na.”

He looked seriously into her eyes. “Aap nahi hoti toh humara kya hota, hamari Priya.”

She leaned into him, her forehead resting against his.

“Humari raushni ke bina aap zindagi mein kho gaye hote, bhatak rahe hote yuhi. Kisi aur aurat ki taalash me.”

“You’d be lost, wandering through life without my guiding light, in the search of some other woman,” she replied, her voice teasing yet tender.

They shared a laugh, the sound filling the room with warmth.

Abhigyan’s gaze softened as he studied her face, the way her eyes sparkled with joy and the curve of her lips that made his heart race.

"Aapko pata hai, humne kabhi itna dar aur itna utsaah ek saath mehsoos nahi kiya."

“You know, I’ve never been so afraid and so excited at the same time,” he confessed, his tone shifting to something deeper.

Priya's expression softened, understanding the weight of his words.

“Hum bhi yahi mehsoos kar rahe hain, Abhigyan ji. Har ek halchal humein yaad dilata hai kitna naazuk hai yeh safar humare liye, lekin humein hum dono par pura vishwas hai.”

“I feel it too, Abhigyan. Every flutter reminds me of how fragile this journey is, but I have faith in us.”

He cupped her face in his hands, looking deeply into her eyes.

"Hum saath milkar har pareshani ka saamna karenge, jaise hum hamesha karte aaye hain. Aap humari taqat hain, aur yeh chhota sa jaan humare rishte ko aur mazboot banayega, jaan."

“We’ll face it together, just like we always have. You are my strength, and this little one will only make our bond stronger.”

She smiled, her heart soaring at his words.

"Aap ek behtareen pita banenge. Hum dekhte hain jis tarah aap humara khayal rakhte hain, jaise aap humein apni duniya ki sabse keemti cheez samajhte hain, Abhi."

“You’re going to be a wonderful father, you know. I see it in the way you care for me, how you hold me like I’m the most precious thing in your world.”

Abhigyan leaned in closer, their breaths mingling.

"Kyuki aap hain, Priya. Aapke saath har pal ek khazana hai jise hum hamesha ke liye sambhal kar rakhna chahte hain."

“That’s because you are, Priya. Every moment with you is a treasure I want to cherish forever.”

With that, he kissed her softly, their lips barely grazing at first, but soon deepening into a tender embrace.

The kiss was filled with all the unspoken promises of love, warmth, and a future together. Priya melted into him, her hands finding their way to the nape of his neck, pulling him closer as if to fuse their souls together.

They pulled away slightly, their foreheads resting against each other, breathless and smiling.

“Hum zindagi bhar aise reh sakte hai.”

“I could stay like this forever,” Abhigyan murmured, his voice low and filled with sincerity.

“Hum bhi.. Aapke saath har lamha ek sapna lagta hai, Abhi.”

“Me too,” Priya replied, her heart beating in rhythm with his. “Every moment with you feels like a dream.”

“Fir Issey sach kar dete hai?”

“Let’s make it a reality,” he said, his gaze unwavering. “Let’s fill our home with laughter, love, and the pitter-patter of tiny feet.”

She nodded, her eyes shimmering with unshed tears of joy.

"Hum vaada karte hain ki hamesha aapke saath khade rahenge, chahe kuch bhi ho jaye."

“I promise to always stand by you, no matter what.”

Abhigyan squeezed her hands, feeling the depth of their connection.

"Aur hum vaada karte hain ki hum aapko aur hamare bacche ko surakshit rakhenge, aur humare aane wale dinon ko khushi se bhar denge."

“And I promise to protect you and our little one, to fill our days with happiness.”

As they stayed there, wrapped in each other's embrace, the outside world faded away.

The morning sun continued to rise, casting a golden glow on their love story—a love that was blossoming, just like the flowers in their garden, vibrant and full of promise.
