Author's POV.

"Jis baap se hum Bachpan se door bhaagte aaye hai, humbhi iss shaadi ke baad apne baap ke tarah ban Gaye toh?".

She moved her hand towards the nape of his neck, caressing it slowly, very gently and it soothed him.

She replied in a very low, soft, tender tone,

"Hume nahi pata aapke pita kaise aadmi the. Hume bas itna pata hai ki aap waise nahi hai. Jitne bhi mard humne dekha hai apni zindagi mein, aap sab se alag hai. Bilkul alag."

His heart melted on her words. Her sweet voice. The words, that he could never believe. He sucked the skin on the side of her neck and she inhaled sharply.

Inhaling deeply, licking her neck once, he whispered in her ear,

"Tumhe kuch batana chahte hai hum."

She nodded.

He looked into her eyes. He shifted up. Laying down on his back on the bed. He pulled her towards himself. She placed her head on his chest and he wrapped his arms around her protectively.

Caressing her bare back with one hand and holding her hand with another, he spoke,

"Bhaiya.. bhaiya nahi chodenge tumhare bhaiyo ko."

She looked up at him and saw his adam's apple moving as he gulped.

Her heart felt heavy. She took a hint.

He caressed the back of her palm and pecked once on her temple.

"Jaan se maar denge tumhare dono Bhai ko," he saw her eyes welling up as her lips parted,

"Hum maante hai, ki unhone humari bhabhi ko, kis Karan se agwa kiya. Magar. Hum bhaiya ko rokenge nahi.. bilkul nahi.. tumhare bhaiyo ki wajah se taklif pahuncha hai unki biwi ko. Unka baccha Cheen gaya. Hum nahi rok paenge, yeh jaante hue ki woh humari biwi ke sage Bhai hai, hum nahi rok paenge bhaiya ko."

Tears rolled down her eyes. Although they had never cared for her much, but they were her brothers. And more than that, she felt for her sister-in-laws. They would become a widow.

Their children.

She knew what it was like to be a widow in the village.

She shivered and he tightened his grip, trying to calm her.

He caressed her hair, placing kiss on the crown of her head.

"Hume pata hai tumhe taklif hogi.. bahut taklif hogi.. lekin hum nahi kar sakte kuch.. Kuch bhi nahi. Tum humari biwi ho, tumhe taklif me dekhna bhi gawara nahi hoga ab Hume. Firbhi, hum kuch nahi kar paenge. Shivaay tumhare aansu pochne ke."

She cried more, over his chest. Clenching his kurta tightly.

He was consoling her.

She cried for several minutes, and he kept on consoling her without getting irritated and frustrated.

When he saw her cheeks dried up, he raised her face up by her chin and muttered,

"Gussa toh bahut aaya tha hume.. soch liya tha humne, tumhari zindagi tabah kar denge. Magar sach kehte hai bhaiya, tumhari galti nhi hai, tumhare Bhai hi kamine hai saley."

She gulped silently, touching his jaw with her fingers, lovingly and asked,

"Hume.. hume kuch pata nahi hai. Hume bas itna bataya Gaya tha ki humari shaadi ho rahi, ji. Woh bhi jab hum mandap pe pahunch gaye. Aisi stithi thi, ki hum bhaiya ko mana bhi nahi kar payein."

He looked into her eyes. Placing a soft kiss on her head, he spoke in a demanding voice,

"Humari biwi ho ab. Chahe jaisi bhi ho. Jis bhi stithi me Humari shadi Hui ho, ab tum Humari ho. Humesha humari ban kar rahogi sirf? Hn?".

She nodded her head, lightly, feeling a lump in her throat.

He placed a kiss on her forehead, again and intertwined their fingers together.

"Aur hum.. tumhare hai.. sirf tumhare.. kabhi kisi aur aurat ke paas Naa Gaye hai, naa kabhi jaenge. Samjhi?".

She nodded.

Saying this, he closed his eyes. He patted her head for few minutes, until he slipped into a deep slumber.

***

It was early morning when her eyes opened. She found herself sleeping over him, his hands wrapped around her. She smiled, slightly.

She feathered her fingers over his cheek. His eyeballs moved.

She gulped.

She tried to get up but failed as his grip was tight.

She was removing his hands when he opened his eyes.

His eyes moved to see her.

From head to whatever part was visible. Naked part.

He almost yelled, his eyes wide,

"KYA KAR RAHI HO?".

She shivered, "Aap.. wo aap..," she pointed towards his hand that was gripping her body tightly.

He looked at his hands and removed his hands immediately. She covered her body by sheets.

He sat up immediately and asked in a loud voice,

"Humare bistar par kaise aayi tum?".

She was taken aback.

Was he acting?

Or he didn't remember anything?

She shivered, her heart wrenching as she spoke,

"Aap- wo aap-".

He cut her off, "Bolne bhi nahi aata kya sahi se?".

She whimpered hearing his tone, it was hurting her,

"Aap.. aap hi ne.. Hume... Sulaya .. bistar par."

He thinned his lips. His brows furrowed.

He?

He had brought her?

His eyes caught her body, which she was covering. She was naked under the sheet.

And suddenly he felt a stingy pain in his head. He held his head tightly. She became tensed and tried to hold him. But he showed her his palm and stopped her.

He stood up from the bed and asked holding his head,

"Humne kuch Kiya tumhare saath?".

She gulped. Feeling scared.

He shouted again,

"Humne kuchh kiyaaa tumhare sathhh?".

She nodded instantly.

He closed his eyes out of guilt.

His heart breaking apart yet again. His mind telling him that he was just like his father.

A bastard.

Just like the man whom he had resented his entire life.

His head spinned. He was about to fall down on the floor when she stood up immediately, in the same naked state and held him tightly, stopping him from falling.

She made him sit on the bed and forwarded him a glass of water.

He denied.

Without hesitating, she gave him a strict glare and spoke sternly,

"Humse narazgi hai, khud par kyu utaar rahe?".

He didn't deny this time, he drank the water.

When he came back in his senses, he saw her sitting beside him, her hands holding his hands, lovingly.

His heart wanted to flutter but he didn't allow it. He took his hands back.

He muttered in a low voice,

"Dekho.. hum raat me nashe me the.. Hume kuch nahi yaad ki humne tumhare saath kya kiya.. yaa humne tumhe... Tumhe chhua.. kuch nahi yaad Hume, hum maafi maangte hai. Nafrat apni jagah hai aur, tumhari ijjat apni jagah hai. Hum kabhi behoshi me bhi kisi aurat ki ijjat lene ki nahi soch sakte, pata nahi humse yeh kya, kaisa paap ho gaya."

She was suprised upon his words. She shook her head and asked,

"Sach me aapko kuch yaad nahi hai? Kuch bhi nahi?".

He shook his head.

"Itna bhi yaad nahi ki aapne kal humse kya kya kaha?".

He looked into her eyes and saw tears rolling down. He gulped and looked away.

His eyes fell on the floor. Her red blouse. Ripped in pieces. Her saree. Her underskirt lying in two pieces. Her garments lying shamelessly on the floor.

And,he felt her coming close and hugging him, holding his torso. Her naked breasts, pushed against his chest. Something flickered in his heart.

He didn't hold her, but he didn't even pushed her away. Because, he had guilt. Guilt in his heart that he had took her virginity. That too when he was unconscious.

She cried against his chest. More and more. His heart was falling apart in pieces.

She blabbered,

"Aap... Aapne...poori raat.. Hume pyaar diya.. .. ab.. kyu khud se door kar rahe Hume?".

He didn't knew what to speak. His own actions had left him speechless. He seperated her from himself and spoke,

"Hume pata hai maafi maangne se kuch nahi hoga. Fir bhi. Ho sake toh maaf karna. Aur..aansu pocho, kapde pehen lo, tumhe bhi ajeeb lagta hoga, aise."

She shook her head and held him again, "Aap wapas door ho jaenge humse."

His chest heaved, feeling a heavy lump in his throat as he spoke in a soft voice, "Zid mat karo na. Hume khud bura lag raha kal raat ko le kar."

"Kuch der..," she negotiated and he nodded a bit.

They remained still. Her head against his chest. For several minutes. Everything that he had thought, was happening the exact opposite. He wanted to give her pain, but he had unknowingly ended up showing his love to her last night. He wanted to stay away from her as far as possible, and here, she was holding him and he let her hold him for as long as she wanted to.

Until she seperated herself from him on her own and looked into his eyes.

Silence surrounded them for minutes as their gazes remained locked with each other.

He again spoke in a low and comforting voice,

"Kapde pehen lo. Fir naha Lena Jaa kar. Hn?".

She nodded and spoke,

"Humara.. humara samaan.. bahar hai shayad."

He nodded his head, standing up. His eyes darted upon her body. He was seeing a woman, completely naked for the first time in his twenty years of life. Gulping silently, he moved his gaze away. He picked up a thin sheet from the bed and wrapped it around her body.

He muttered slowly, looking into her eyes, very softly,

"Koi nahi aaega andar, hn? Hum aate hai lekar."

She nodded timidly, holding the hem of sheet with her fingers, covering her bosoms.

After few minutes, she saw him entering the room again, along with her trunk.

He placed it in the corner of the room, along with his trunk and spoke,

"Rashta nahi pata hoga tumhe snaan-ghar ka, kapde pehno, hum intezar kar rahe bahar."

She nodded and he moved outside.
