"Tum chor kar nahi jaogi na Hume?".
["You won't leave me alone, will you?"]
She knew what he was actually feeling like. She knew what was in his heart, which he wasn't ready to speak or confess to her. She shook her head, and replied,
"Kabhi nahi... Aapko jitni nafrat karni hai humse, kar lijiye.. hum nahi jaenge."
["Never... However much you want to hate me, go ahead.. I won't leave."]
Abhisar gulped, pulling her more close and placing his head down, upon her belly, holding her tightly.
She held him more protectively.
He muttered in a deep voice,
"Hum tumse nafrat nahi karte hai, Nupur."
["I don't hate you, Nupur."]
Her hands found the way towards his back inside the kurta. She traced her nails slightly upon his back. He was liking whatever she was doing to comfort him. She asked him in a low, broken voice,
"Nafrat nahi karte toh humse door kyu bhaagte hai aap?".
["If you don't hate me, then why do you run away from me?"]
He inhaled deeply, tracing his fingers on her navel,
"Hum.. hume... Hum nahi bata sakte."
["I... I can't... I can't tell."]
Reply came from her, in a very soft voice, very sweet,
"Koi baat nahi jaan."
["It's okay, jaan."]
He felt surprised. Surprised about the way she was so patient about things. He moved up and placed his head on her shoulder. He muttered against her neck, his voice hoarse,
"Hume jaan mat bulao. Hum tumhe sirf taklif de sakte hai."
["Don't call me 'jaan'. I can only cause you pain."]
She smiled, knowing that whatever he was speaking, it wasn't real. He could never harm her, let alone breaking her heart. He was the one who wasn't able to see her cry this morning. He was the one who made her sit on his lap this morning and was ready to hear her every single complain. Palming his cheek she spoke,
"Koi baat nahi.. wo bhi hume manjoor hai. Bas Hume taklif me dekh kar aap khush hojaiyega."
["It's okay.. I accept that too. If just seeing me in pain will make you happy."]
His heart wrenched. He nuzzled his face into her, hiding himself from her and she heard his whimper.
His voice shaky as he spoke,
"Hum ache insan nahi hai Nupur. Hum nahi hai tumhare layak. Kisi bhi aurat ke layak. Humse door raho Nupur."
["I'm not a good person, Nupur. I'm not worthy of you. Not worthy of any woman. Stay away from me, Nupur."]
She turned her body, only to face him. His eyes were lowered.
She cupped his face and raised it up to level their eyes. Her eyes noticed slight wetness in his eyes. She spoke in a low voice while rubbing her thumb upon his cheeks,
"Nahi reh paenge. Aap hi bataiye Abhisar, humara kaun hai aapke alawa iss duniya mein ab? Maa-baap ko toh chor kar aa gaye hum aapke liye, aapke saath saat fere lekar. Aur aap hi kehte hai , humse door raho. Kaise rahe hum, Abhisar, aakhir kaise?"
["I won't be able to. You tell me, Abhisar, who do I have in this world now other than you? I left my parents for you, came to you, took seven vows with you. And you're the one telling me to stay away. How do I stay, Abhisar, how?"]
He lowered his gaze again.
She demanded in a soft tone,
"Humari aankhon me dekhiye."
["Look into my eyes."]
He moved his eyes to look into hers, their gazes locked.
She spoke very softly,
"Hum zindagi me aapse kuch nahi mangege. Kabhi nahi. Bas har raat humare saath aise hi kaat lijiyega. Kabhi aap humari baahon me, kabhi hum aapke baahon me. Sirf aapki raatein chahiye Hume. Poore din aap humse door rahe, hum seh lenge. Raat ko humare pati banke humare pass aajaiyega bas."
["I won't ask anything from you in life. Never. Just spend every night with me like this. Sometimes in my arms, sometimes in yours. I just want your nights. I can endure you being away from me all day, just come to me as my husband at night."]
He gulped on her demand. His heart heavy with the weight of the unspoken truth that lingered between them. He wanted to tell her about her aunt, being used by his biological father.
"Nupur...".
She nodded her head.
"Hume... Hume tumhe bahut kuch batana hai. Tum hamari biwi ho.. tumhara haq hai humare baare me sab kuch janne ka. Par hume samay chahiye Nupur."
["I... I have a lot to tell you. You are my wife... you have the right to know everything about me. But I need time, Nupur."]
She rubbed her cheek against his beardy cheek, which felt ticklish to her and soft to him.
She whispered in his ear,
"Poori zindagi intezar kar lenge hum."
["I'm ready to wait my entire life."]
He shook his head, holding her hands,
"Poori zindagi aapse door nahi reh paenge hum. Hum jitna bhi chahe, Hume pata hai hum aapke pyar me gir jaenge."
["I won't be able to stay away from you all my life. No matter how hard I try, I know I will fall for your love."]
She touched his face, his cheek, pushed his hairs away from his face.
"Jaan."
She called him.
He hummed, against her cheek.
To lighten the air, she murmured shyly,
"Aapki bhabhi aayi thi.. humse baat karne."
["Your sister-in-law came to talk to me."]
He feathered his lips on her cheek and asked,
"Kya kaha unhone?".
["What did she say?"]
She closed her eyes and spoke hesitantly,
"Yahi.. ki aap bahut ache hai."
["She just said that you're very nice."]
He placed a wet kiss on her cheek and asked,
"Isliye itna pyaar aa raha hai hum par?".
["Is that why there's so much love for me?"]
She laughed softly.
"Aur kya kaha bhabhi ne?", he brushed his lips on her earlobe.
["What else did she say?"]
Her chest was heaving up and down.
She muttered in a very low voice, almost inaudible,
"Ki.. aaj ki raat.. hum aapke saath bitae..".
["That... tonight... I should spend with you..."]
He bit her earlobe and spoke without shame,
"Par bhaiya ne toh Hume kaha tha, riwaaz ke anusar, aaj humari suhaagraat hai aapke saath."
["But bhaiya told me, according to the tradition, tonight is my wedding night with you."]
She inhaled deeply and held his arms.
He whispered in her ear,
"Dariye mat. Kuch nahi karenge hum."
["Don't worry. I won't do anything."]
But it was opposite for her. She wanted him to do something. She was needy for him.
He started moving away from her but she held him. She held him tightly, stopping him.
He looked into her eyes.
"Hume chor kar mat jaiye," she hugged him tightly.
["Don't leave me alone"]
He laid down on his back and in a fraction of second, she was over him.
Lying against his chest.
He raised her face up by her chin and muttered while caressing her back,
"Hume kuch yaad nahi hai Nupur humne kal tumhare saath kya kiya. Bataogi Hume?".
["I don't remember what I did with you yesterday, Nupur. Will you tell me?"]
She nodded her head hesitantly.
She placed her head again on his chest and he spoke,
"Batao Hume.. sharmana mat humse."
["Tell me... don't be shy with me."]
She nodded.
She took a deep breathe in deeply and started speaking,
"Aapne..kamre me aakar, gusse se darwaza band kiya."
["You... came into the room and angrily closed the door."]
He hummed for her to continue.
"Aapne Hume dekha... Aur Hume.. jabardasti apne ..kandhe par utha kar.. bistar par gira diya."
["You... saw me... and then... forcibly lifted me onto your... shoulder... and dropped me on the bed."]
He bit his lower lip and asked slowly,
"Dard hua tha tumhe?".
["Did you get hurt?"]
She replied,
"Thoda."
He kissed on her head and replied,
"Maaf kardo."
She nodded.
"Fir?", he asked.
"Fir... Aap.. humare upar .. aagye the.. aapne.. humare saare .kapre faar Diye the."
["Then... you... were on top of me... you... tore off all my clothes."]
He smiled, devilishly.
She looked at him and slightly slapped his shoulder,
"Humari shadi ka joda tha..aapne faar Diya.. aur hass rahe hai aap."
["It was my wedding dress... you tore it... and you were laughing."]
He controlled his smile and shook his head, "Fir?".
Now she felt extremely shy. She stopped speaking.
"Fir kya hua Nupur?".
["Then what happened, Nupur?"]
She wasn't speaking.
He raised her face up and asked again,
"Nupur, kya hua fir? Hume bataona."
["Nupur, what happened next? Tell me."]
She gulped and clenched her fingers upon his kurta.
She shook her head shyly.
He understood her shyness and placed a gentle kiss on her forehead.
He spoke in a low voice,
"Humne kabhi yeh sab socha nahi tha.. khashkar humari shadi ke baare me. Hum nashe me nahi hote toh yakeen maano, hum kabhi tumhe nahi chute jabardasti. Kabhi bhi nahi."
["I had never imagined all this... especially about our marriage. Believe me, if I wasn't intoxicated, I wouldn't have ever touched you forcibly. Never."]
She smiled softly and muttered, palming his chest,
"Aapne sirf humara jism nahi chhua kal raat, Abhisar. Humne aapke baare me bahut kuch jaana kal. Hum aapko bata bhi nahi sakte, kal ki raat humare liye kya thi."
["You didn't just touch my body last night, Abhisar. I learned a lot about you yesterday. I can't even tell you what last night meant to me."]
His lips twitched into a smile and he asked,
"Kya jaana? Hume bhi bataiye kya kya bol Gaye hum nashe me."
["What did you learn? Tell me what all I said in intoxication."]
She touched his face with her palm and without thinking twice, placed a kiss on his cheek.
"Aap Dil se bacche hai Abhisar. Hum aapka saara gum aapse le Lena chahte hai, aur jitna bhi bachpana humare andar hai, sab aapko dedena chahte hai."
["You're innocent at heart, Abhisar. I want to take all your sorrows from you, and whatever childhood innocence I have inside me, I want to give it all to you."]
He placed his palm on the junction of her jaw and neck. He spoke in a soft voice,
"Sapne me bhi apna gum naa de aapko hum."
["Even in dreams, I don't want to give you my sorrow."]
He pulled her closer, their lips against each other's and he placed his lips softly on hers, very gently, to show his love, to show his care.
She laid down on his chest again.
"Kal subhe aap firse nafrat karne lgaenge humse, hai na Abhisar?".
["Tomorrow morning, you'll start hating me again, won't you, Abhisar?"]
He replied in a deep voice,
"Hum nahi karte aapse nafrat. Dheere dheere samjhengi aap Hume. Aur jab Tak hum aapko apne Dil ki baat nahi bata dete, aap sahi mayne me humari biwi nahi kehlaengi Nupur."
["I don't hate you. You'll understand me slowly. And until I tell you what's in my heart, you won't be rightfully called my wife, Nupur."]
She gulped and asked,
"Tab Tak humari baahon me nahi soyenge aap, woh nahi karenge Jo kal Kiya humare saath nashe me?".
["Until then, you won't sleep in my arms, you won't do what you did with me in intoxication?"]
He laughed softly.
He placed her on the bed and sat on his knees in between her parted legs.
He held her palm and placed it on his crotch.
"Aapko lagta hai hum khud par kabu kar paenge? Aap itni khubsurat hai, Nupur".
["Do you think I'll be able to control myself? You're so beautiful, Nupur."]
She bit her lips. It was hard under her palm. Very hard. She could feel his size.
He asked in a heavy voice,
"Aapko toh dekh liya humne, aap dekhna chahengi Hume?".
["I've seen you, but do you want to see me?"]
