11. Nupur learns about Abhisar

Tum jo paas aayi

Choomne ka yun bahana leke

Tabse tum meri ho dastaan..

Chaand ko bulakar ..

Tumne chamkayi meri jo raatein

Tabse mai tumhara hee hua

Madhoshi ho.. ya nah bhi ho

Iss pyaar ki gehrayi ka koi

Intehaan nahi..

"Dekhna chahengi Hume?".

["Do you want to see me?"]

She gulped. She wanted to see him, but at the same time her heart, her shame was dominating over her desire.

Her heart was beating fast.

She shook her head shyly.

He smiled slightly, biting his lower lip. He already knew she was bold enough but these cases turn every woman shy. And he liked it.

"Bas aapka haq hai ispe," he felt his voice trembling as he spoke this.

["It's just your right in this."]

He felt something unknown which made his voice tremble unknowingly. He didn't knew what actually it was, but it left him with a lump in his throat.

And he moved away from her.

He sat on the edge of the bed. Trying to breathe properly.

She sat up, seeing his discomfort. She snaked her hands around his body from behind. But he didn't react.

She got down from the bed, parted his legs and stood in between them.

Cupping his face with both her hands she questioned,

"Kya hua jaan?".

["What happened, jaan?"]

He shook his head.

She spoke again in a soft voice,

"Hume pata hai koi baat hai.. aap nahi batana chah rahe woh alag baat hai."

["I know something is up... You don't want to tell me is another matter."]

He looked up, into her eyes.

And slowly, he snaked his arms around her waist, placing his head against her breasts. She wrapped her arms around him, calming him down, soothing his heart.

"Abhisar, humne kaha na.. hum hai. Hum hai aapke paas. Humesha rahenge."

["Abhisar, I said it, na, I... I am here. I am with you. Always will be."]

Upon listening her words, unknowingly he pulled her more closer with a jerk and her knees, her knees crashed against the hard wood of the bed and she whimpered in pain.

He immediately seperated from her and looked down. He made her sit on his thigh and rubbed her knee,

"Zor se laga, humari jaan ?".

["Did it hurt a lot, my jaan?"]

She smiled. She smiled widely. And encircled her hands around his neck tightly, nuzzling her face into the crook of his neck.

"Kya hua Nupur? Ro Rahi ho? Jyada zor se lag gaya?".

["What happened, Nupur? Are you crying? Did it hurt too much?"]

She shook her head and kissed on his neck. He smiled feeling her lips on his neck.

He caressed her knee lightly. Until he felt, the pain would have faded away.

He held her forearm and seperated them slowly. Looking into her eyes he spoke seriously,

"Tumhe kuch batana hai hume."

["I've something to tell you."]

She nodded her head. She waited but she noticed him hesitating as his lips were parting open and then thinning again into a straight line.

She held his hand tightly, intertwining their fingers and spoke,

"Hum aapke baaton ko sun kar aapke baare me kuch galat rai bana lenge, aisa thodi hai? Hn? Aap Hume bata sakte hai Abhisar. Hum saari baatein bas khud Tak rakhenge."

["After listening to your words, will I form any wrong opinion about you? No, right? You can tell me, Abhisar. I'll keep all the talks just between us."]

He nodded and slowly spoke,

"Tumhe batana zaroori hai Nupur. Kal se tum bhi iss Ghar ki Bahu ki jimmedariyan uthaogi. Hum nahi chahte tum se yeh chupa rahe."

["It's important for me to tell you, Nupur. From tomorrow, you too will take on the responsibilities of this household's daughter-in-law. I don't want to hide this from you."]

She nodded her head curtly.

He collected all his courage and spoke in a go,

"Humari maa nahi hai, Nupur."

["I don't have a mother, Nupur."]

She felt confused. She had heard the conversation when Priya was asking about their mother and Abhigyan had replied she is well.

Her brows thinned.

She palmed his face and muttered,

"Hume samajh nahi aaya, ji."

["I didn't understand, ji."]

He knew it will be difficult for him to explain her directly still he took this step. He kissed on her palm and spoke hesitantly,

"Hum iss Ghar ke sautele bete hai."

["I am the stepson of this house."]

Her lips parted in disbelief. She was taken aback. Never in the world she would have been able to guess this thing if he himself wouldn't have told him.

He noticed her reaction yet continued further,

"Humare.. humare baap... Baap ne humari maa ke pet me Hume chor Diya tha.. jab ki woh pehle se shadi shuda tha."

["My... my father... Father left me in my mother's womb... even though he was already married."]

She felt her heartbeat rising.

She connected the pieces about the thing that he was blabbering without his senses last night.

"Abhigyan bhaiya.. humare sautele Bhai hai. Maa humari maa nahi hai.. sauteli hai..".

["Abhigyan bhaiya... is my stepbrother. Mother is not my real mother... she's my stepmother."]

She gulped and asked softly expecting to get a positive answer,

"Aapki maa?".

["Your mother?"]

He bit his lower lip, feeling ultimate pain in his heart, and replied,

"Nahi rahi.. Hume janam dete guzar gayi."

["She's no more.. she passed away after giving me birth."]

Without waiting for even a second, she immediately hugged him. Tightly. He took her on his lap properly. Raising her saree slightly up, he held her in a way that her legs were on both side of his torso and hands encircled around his neck tightly.

He caressed her back and spoke by gaining more courage,

"Jab wo pet se thi.. tabhi sabko pata chal Gaya tha.. kyuki humari maa humare haq ke liye lad kar gayi thi.."

["When she was pregnant... that's when everyone found out... because my mother fought for my rights."]

She gulped, placing her lips on his neck for a long time as long as he spoke.

"Maa.. kya bole hum.. unhone apnaya.. lekin waise nahi.. kabhi pyar hi nahi diya.. kabhi samjh hi nahi aaya maa ke aanchal me chupna kya hota hai."

["Maa... what should I say... she adopted me... but not really... never gave any love... I never understood what it means to seek shelter in a mother's embrace."]

She caressed her palm over his back, to calm him down.

"Jitna pyaar mila.. bhaiya se mila hai hume.. janam se ab Tak..aur jabse bhaiya ki shadi Hui, tab se bhabhi se bhi."

["All the love I've received... I've received it from my brother... since birth till now... and since my brother's marriage, even from my sister-in-law."]

He smiled and spoke,

"Tumhe pata hai.. ek hafta.. bhabhi ke saath guzaara humne.. Hume Jo Jo khana pasand hai, sab bana kar khilaya Hume. Hum jo kabhi jante nahi the maa ka pyar kya hota hai, naa kabhi jaan paenge shyad, magar unhone Hume woh pyaar diya, maa jaisa."

["You know... I spent a week... with my sister-in-law... She cooked all the food I like and fed me. I never knew what a mother's love feels like, nor will I ever perhaps, but she gave me that love, like a mother."]

She smiled, listening to him, his words.

"Bhaiya toh.. bhaiya toh humare pita hi hai.. bachpan se ab Tak.. unhone hi hume iss laayak banaya ki Aaj hum yahan hai."

["Bhaiya... bhaiya is like my father... since childhood till now... he's the one who made me capable enough to be here today."]

"Isliye hum tumse bhi yahi ummeed karenge humesha ki tum unhe hamesha izzat dogi."

["That's why I will always hope the same from you, that you will always respect them."]

She nodded her head and muttered,

"Humesha."

["Always."]

His face became serious again, as he spoke,

"Idhar dekho, humare taraf."

["Look here, at me."]

She moved back and looked into his eyes. His straight face. She palmed his cheek lovingly.

He closed his eyes feeling her warmth.

She spoke in a low voice,

"Hum samajh Gaye aap kya kehna chahte hai jaan."

["I understand what you're trying to say, jaan."]

He asked, "Kya?".

["What?"]

She leaned forward and whispered in his ear,

"Hum samjh Gaye aapko kis baat se Darr lagta hai, Abhisar."

["I understand what you're afraid of, Abhisar."]

He opened his eyes and looked into hers. She had understood him and it was surprising for him, because they had spent barely two nights together, in which one night when he was unconscious.

His heart clenched as he held her chin and spoke in a very low voice,

"Hume yeh bhi Darr lagta hai ki humara darr ek din sach na hojae."

["I'm also afraid that one day my fear might come true."]

She shook her head, rubbing her thumb on his cheek,

"Aap nahi unke jaise. Humara yakeen kijiye."

["You're not like him. Believe me."]

He scoffed.

"Tum toh janti bhi nahi hume. Kaise keh sakti ho."

["You don't even know me. How can you say that?"]

She smiled, gently and replied him in her most soft voice,

"Aapne jab nashe ki haal me apni biwi ke jism ka istemaal nahi kiya, toh poori hosh me kisi aur aurat ke jism ko kaise apna bana sakte hai, Abhisar."

["When you didn't use your wife's body in a state of intoxication, how could you use another woman's body in full consciousness, Abhisar?"]

He was taken aback.

He looked into her eyes intensely and asked,

"Humne tumhe chhua tha? Humne tumhare saath sab kuch Kiya tha kal raat? Hai na?".

[" I had touched you? I did everything with you last night? Right?"]

She cupped his face and spoke,

"Haan.. aapne Hume chhua tha Abhisar," she leaned forward and whispered in his ear, "Par hum ab bhi kunwari hai.. bas chhua tha aapne."

["Yes.. you had touched me, Abhisar...-but I'm still a virgin, you had just touched me."]

He inhaled deeply, "Sach keh rahi ho?".

["Are you speaking the truth?"]

She nodded, "Haan Abhisar, hum kyu aapse jhuth kahenge."

["Yes Abhisar, why would I lie?"]

He hugged her tightly. The major guilt that he had in his heart had washed away. He hugged her whole heartedly.

She caressed his head and spoke,

"Aap kyu itna darte hai, Abhisar. Humare baaton par yakeen kijiye bas, aap nahi hai apne pita jaise."

["Why are you so afraid, Abhisar? Just believe in my words, you're not like your father."]

He retaliated immediately,

"Mat bulao usey Mera pita."

["Don't call him my father."]

She laughed softly and pulled herself back to cup his cheeks again,

"Unhe pita bulana Tak pasand nahi, aur aap darte hai ki aap unki tarah ban jaenge? Humare Abhisar hai aap. Sirf humare. Samjhe aap?".

["You don't even like him being called as your father, and you're afraid you'll become like him? You're my Abhisar. Only mine. Do you understand?"]

He nodded his head in acceptance.

She moved from his lap, and he let her.

Placing her palm on his chest, she muttered,

"Hum dekhna chahte hai aapko. Iss jism ko.. jo humare pati ka hai... Jispe sirf humara haq hai. Hai na?".

["I want to see you. This body... which belongs to my husband... Upon which only I have rights. Right?"]

Excerpt from next chapter :

After a long stare, he couldn't resist more. He laughed looking away and asked,

"Kya? Aise kya dekh Rahi ho?".

She moved towards him, cupping his face and turning it to lock their eyes. He looked at her softly, biting his lip,

"Dekh rahe hai.. kaise humare pati Hume andekha karne ki poori koshish kar rahe hai, subhe subhe."
