His jaw clenched.

He trailed his fingers upon her cheek,

"Subhe subhe dard de Diya humne aapko."

["Early in the morning, I caused you pain."]

She clicked her tongue.

He laughed mutely, "Kya chahti hai aap?".

["What do you want?"]

She encircled her hands around his neck and pulled him closer.

She looked directly into his eyes and muttered, "Aapko."

His chest heaved.

He rested his head gently over her shoulder and she was holding him tightly.

He spoke in a low voice,

"Hum nahi kar sakte Nupur."

She caressed his head. Stroking his hairs.

"Hume nahi banana aapko apni, itni jaldi. Hum aapke saamne apne Dil ko pehle khol kar rakh Dena chahte hai Nupur. Nahi toh aage Chal kar humare shadi shuda zindagi me pareshaniya aaengi. Hum jaante hai."

["I don't want to make you mine so quickly. I want to open my heart to you first, Nupur. Otherwise, there will be problems in our married life going forward. I know that."]

He raised his body up, to look into her eyes. Brushing her hair strands away, he muttered,

"Aur jab Tak bhaiya bhabhi ka baccha nahi ho jata, hum aapko maa bhi nahi bana sakte."

["And until Bhaiya and Bhabhi have a child, I can't make you a mother either."]

She palmed his cheek, "Kaaran janne ka haq toh hoga na Hume?".

["Don't I have the right to know the reason?"]

He nodded, holding her palm.

"Hum chahte hai Ghar ka bada beta ya beti, bhaiya de Ghar ko, hum nahi. Dusri aur sabse zaroori baat jaan, hum dono ki umra abhi Kam hai. Pata nahi duniya kya sochti hai, Hume khud se matlab hai, itni choti umra me aapko hum maa banakar dard nahi dena chahte."

["I want the eldest son or daughter of the house to come from my brother, not from me. And most importantly, our age is still quite young. I don't care what the world thinks, but at such a young age, I don't want to make you a mother and suffer pain."]

She nodded and spoke rubbing her thumb upon his cheek,

"Sirf bacche ke liye yeh karte hai kya, Abhisar?".

["Do people do this only for having children, Abhisar?"]

Abhisar laughed, pulling her close, placing his arm below her neck.

"Nahi.. humare paas aur bhi tarike hai. Sheher ke doston se seekhne ko Mila hai bahut kuch."

["No... I have other ways. I've learned a lot from my friends in the city."]

She bit her lower lip while smiling notoriously, "kya kya?".

He pulled her fluffy cheek and asked,

"Pehle toh aap Hume bataiye.. yeh saari baatein sach muchh aapki dost ne hi batai hai na aapko, yaa humare se pehle bhi koi tha aapki zindagi me?".

["First, tell me... Did your friend really tell you all this, or was there someone else in your life before me?"]

Her face turned serious as her expressions changed.

She pushed him away immediately.

He didn't budge and just looked into her eyes,

"Majak kar rahe the, jaan."

She shook her head,

"Aisa majak nahi pasand Hume."

She stood up from the bed immediately and correcting her saree, taking out her clothes from the trunk and moved outside, before giving him the chance to speak any further.

***

When she returned back after taking a bath, he was still resting on the bed, his hands placed below his head.

She moved towards the dressing table, wearing her saree properly. Applying vermillion, wearing jewelleries and combing her hair.

While she was stepping outside again, he muttered,

"Take out clothes for me."

She nodded and moved towards the cupboard to take out clothes for him. He moved towards her after standing up from the bed.

Moving closer to her, he brushed his lips on her neck slightly.

She didn't react much only replied, "Naha lijiye. Hum nashta banate hai, raat me bhi bhuke soye honge."

He nodded his head an she moved out.

***

Abhisar was having his lunch when Abhigyan spoke,

"I've to discuss with you something after lunch."

He nodded his head.

After having lunch, they moved outside for a walk.

Abhigyan spoke,

"Tell me one thing Abhisar, did Vikas Choudhary said something about the reason of kidnapping Priya."

Abhisar was caught offguard. Here, he didn't wanted to tell anything to Abhigyan and his brother was asking him, himself from front.

He couldn't even lie from him.

So he replied respectfully, "Ji bhaiya."

"Ab hume yeh batao ki humse kyu chupaya?", Abhigyan asked.

["Now tell me why did you hide it from me."]

He gulped and replied after a pause,

"Aap khud hi Pehle se pareshan the bhaiya, hum aur pareshan nahi karna chahte the."

["You were already worried yourself, brother. I didn't wanted to add more worry."]

Abhigyan nodded his head and signalled him to sit below a tree.

They sat down together, side by side.

Abhigyan spoke,

"Maa ne humse kaha do din Pehle, tumse puchne, unhone kaha Abhisar ko pata hoga."

["Maa told me two days ago that I should ask you. She said Abhisar would know."]

Abhisar parted his lips and inhaled deeply.

"Humne pucha tha Vikas se. Kaaran bataya usne hume," he spoke.

["I asked Vikas. He told me the reason."]

"Humari biwi se sambandhit nahi hota toh hum nahi puchte tumse, jab tak tum khud se hume nahi batate," Abhigyan muttered looking towards him.

["If it didn't concern my wife, I wouldn't have asked you, unless you yourself would've told me."]

Abhisar knew. He knew that his brother trusts him a lot.

He spoke in a low voice,

"Vikas ne kaha.. uski fua thi.. jiske pet me babuji ne apna bacha chor diya tha.. tabhi se dushmani hai."

"Ussi ka badla lene ke liye Bhabhi ko agwa kiya."

["Vikas said... his aunt... in whose womb Babuji left his child... since then, there's been enmity."

"To take revenge, Bhabhi was kidnapped."]

After a long pause, Abhigyan scoffed, "Jitna bhi soch lo iss aadmi se nafrat naa karne ki, marne ke baad bhi kuch na kuch kar hi deta hai nafrat jagane ke liye humare mann me."

["It's hard not to harbor hatred for this man, no matter how much we try. Even after death, he manages to evoke some form of animosity in our minds."]

Abhisar replied,

"Hume maaf kijiyega bhaiya, humne chupaaya aapse."

["Please forgive me, bhaiya, I hid it from you."]

"Apni biwi ko bataya tumne?" he asked.

["Have you told your wife?"]

He shook his head.

"Batana chahiye na Abhisar. Aage chal kar tum dono ki zindagi par asar pad sakta hai iss wajah se. Unka bhi haq hai janne ka, unke pariwar se Judi baat hai akhir."

["You should tell her, Abhisar. It could affect both of your lives in the future. She also has the right to know, as it's a matter concerning her family after all."]

Abhisar nodded. This was the only reason he was stopping himself time and again from claiming her. Because he wanted to clear everything between both of them first. What if she gets angry on him? What if she blames Abhisar for his father's deeds and hurting her fua?

When Abhisar stayed silent for too long, his brother asked in a serious tone,

"Sab kuch theek toh hai na Abhisar tum dono ke beech?".

["Is everything okay between you two, Abhisar?"]

Abhisar nodded silently.

Abhigyan patted his back and spoke while standing up,

"Hume yakeen hai humare bhai par, aurton ki ijjat karna toh sikhaya hai humne usey."

["I believe in my brother, I've taught him to respect women."]

Abhisar recalled the incident of last night, still nodded his head while standing up after him.

"Khairr, hum chahte the tum aaj sham tum Fatehpur ke liye niklo" Abhigyan spoke to him.

["Well, I wanted you to leave for Fatehpur this evening."]

Abhisar looked at him surprisingly.

His brother continued after nodding his head,

"Jao, Rajnath naam ka aadmi milega tumhe, humara aadmi hai, usey kuch paise bhejwana hai hume."

["Go, you'll meet a man named Rajnath, he's our man, you need to send him some money for us."]

Abhisar nodded his head.

Moving back inside the house, Abhigyan muttered to him,

"Ache se jaana, tumhe kuch karenge nahi wo log aise bhi, damad ho tum wahan ke."

["Go carefully, they won't do anything to you, you're their son-in-law after all."]

Abhisar nodded and with this, both the brothers moved towards their own rooms.

***

Abhisar was sitting on the chair and waiting for her to wake up as she was taking an afternoon nap.

It's been an hour, since he had been waiting.

She stirred slowly, rubbing her eyes trying to focus on the surrounding.

Seeing her awake, he stood up and moved towards the bed, standing in front of her eyes.

She moved her eyes to look into his.

His hands were folded back, as he spoke softly,

"Bahar jaa rahe hai hum, parso lautenge."

["I am going out, will return the day after tomorrow."]

She forwarded her hand to him, blinking her eyes very slowly and softly. He took it and sat beside her on bed.

She shifted her head to his lap and he brushed the hair strands away from her face.

In a low voice he muttered,

"Khayal rakhna apna."

She asked in the same low voice, sleepy voice,

"Humare bina neend aa jaegi?".

["Will you be able to sleep without me?"]

He smiled slightly and shook his head once.

Bending his face down, he kissed on her head.

She sat up slowly and he pulled her upon his thigh. She palmed his face and placed a small gentle kiss on his lips.

He brushed his lips against her cheek and muttered,

"Aapki yaad aaegi hume. Ummeed hai aapko bhi aae humari."

["I will miss you. I hope you will miss me too."]

She laughed, slapping his cheek lightly and playfully,

"Nahi aaegi, jaiye na."

He bit his lower lip and spanked on her ass cheek, she almost jumped on his thigh.

He spoke, smirking,

"Baaki ka aa kar bataenge aapko hum, bahut badmaash ho gayi hai aap."

["I'll tell you the rest later, you've become quite mischievous."]

She laughed and pecked just once on his lips, "Manjoor hai hume, patidev."

["Alright, husband, I agree."]

He laughed back. Cupping her cheek, he crashed his lips upon hers and kissed her roughly. Both of them kissed each other passionately. Very roughly. Out of hunger and lust. Out of emotions, that they were going to miss each other so badly. And then, he walked away, only after capturing her image in his eyes.
