"Yahan chua usne aapko?".
["Did he touch you here?"]
Her eyes flew open. And her breathe hitched on his question. His face was tensed, slightly angry.
He asked again,
"Yahan chua? Hume bataiye."
["Did he touch here? Tell me."]
She nodded.
He cupped her neck tightly, choking her and he muttered,
"Ha yaa Naa me jawab chahiye Nupur."
["I need an answer in yes or no, Nupur."]
She grunted, "Haa."
He placed a wet kiss over her cheeks.
He moved his thumb over her lips and pressed it upon her plumpy lower lip,
"Isey chumaa?".
She closed her eyes in embarassment and replied in a very low voice,
"Haan."
He kissed dangerously over her lips, sucking the soul out of it. Biting her lips, sucking her tongue, exploring her mouth to its best.
He removed his hand from her neck and trailed his fingers down to her neck,
"Yahan?".
She grunted, feeling nervous,
"Haan".
His lips landed over her neck. He sucked her skin. Tightly. Roughly. Leaving red marks over it at several spots while she only moaned, that too in nervousness.
He moved down, tracing his lips on her cleavage, marking her over it. Sucking her skin deeply.
Squeezing her breasts roughly, he asked,
"Isey bhi chua tha?".
She nodded.
He bit her nipple in resentment and she groaned, "Haan."
He squeezed her breasts tightly, sucking both her bosoms and spanking roughly on one of them.
She held his hair, but he removed her hand away while looking dangerously into her eyes.
Moving down, he traced his lips over her belly, her waist, her lower belly, marking every part as its own and leaving marks over her each body part.
He moved down, between her legs and traced his fingers over her so wet core. He pressed his thumb over her clit and rubbed it for a few seconds.
She arched her body up, feeling his touch and torture.
He looked into her eyes.
His heart was beating fastly too. This time, he was nervous too, as he grunted, "Yahan?".
She just looked into his eyes. Not speaking a single word.
She palmed his cheek, gently. Closing her eyes, she replied,
"Dekha.. dekha tha hume.. humne chune nahi diya khudko."
["He saw it... He saw it... I didn't let him touch me."]
He inhaled deeply and pressed a kiss over her hole. His hand massaged her inner thigh, as he was looking into her eyes intensely.
A lone tear dropped her eye.
He moved up.
Tucked her hair behind her ear.
"Bahut keh rahi thi baar baar, apna bana lijiye, hume aapka banna hai. Lo, bana liya tumhe apna humne. Subhe shishe me ek baar apna badan dekh lena."
["You kept on insisting repeatedly, 'Make me yours, I want to be yours.' Well, I've made you mine now. Tomorrow morning, look at your body in the mirror once."]
She smiled, knowing that he had marked his territory on every part of her body.
He nuzzled his head into the crook of her neck and muttered in a low voice,
"Bas ek kaam acha kiya aapke bhaiyon ne jeete-jee.. jo jinda nahi chora usey.. warna hum itna tarpate usey ki wo Marne ke liye bhi bheek mangta humse."
["Your brothers did one good thing before they passed away... they didn't leave him alive... otherwise, I would have tortured him so much that he would have begged me for death."]
She cupped his cheek and raised his face up by holding it.
"Aap gaon the humare?".
["You went to my Village?]
He looked deeply into her eyes and spoke,
"Hume galat mat samajhna, jaan."
["Don't misunderstand me, jaan."]
She asked in a low voice,
"Aapko..aapko hum par bharosa nahi tha jo aap humare gaon chale gaye pata lagane."
["You... you didn't trust me, which is why you went to my village to find out."]
He immediately shook his head and sat up on the bed.
"Yakeen maano.. hum yeh pata lagane gaye hi nahi the. Hume toh bhaiya ne bheja tha kisi kaam se. Humne iss baat ka zikr Tak nahi Kiya kisi se.. tumhare gaon ke ek insan ne hi khud Humare saamne sab keh diya."
["Believe me, I wasn't even going to find out about this. I was sent by my brother for some work. I didn't even mention this to anyone. A person from your village said everything in front of me."]
He held her hand tightly, sandwiching it between his hands and muttered,
"Aur hum shaant nahi rahe jaan, woh insaan jo humare saamne, humari hi biwi ki burai kar raha tha, maar ke khoon nikaal diya uske mu se humne. Itna maara ki dobara koi tumhare baare me yeh sab baatein karne se pehle sau baar sochega, fir bhi nahi kar payega."
["And I couldn't stay calm, jaan. The person who was criticizing my own wife in front of me, I hit him so hard that blood came out of his mouth. I hit him so much that anyone else will think a hundred times before speaking ill of you again, and still won't be able to."]
She sat up within a second and hugged him tightly. Very tight.
"Aapke babuji ne bhi dekha Hume usey maarte.. kuch kaha nhi unhone."
"Your father also saw me hitting him... he didn't say anything."
He pulled her on his lap and stroked her hair, pecking on her temple.
She muttered slowly,
"Hume maaf kar dijiye... Lekin hum jhuth nahi bolenge.. Hume aapko yeh sab batane ka iraada sach muchh nahi tha... Hume laga tha aap yeh sab jaan kar humse alag ho jaenge."
["Please forgive me... But I won't lie... I didn't intend to tell you all this... I thought you would leave me after knowing all this."]
He caressed her back with his palm,
"Shh.. hum samajhte hai.. par aapko nahi lagta ki pati-patni ke bich kuch chupa nahi rehna chahiye. hn?".
["Shh... I understand... but don't you think there shouldn't be any secrets between husband and wife, hmm?"]
She nodded.
"Hume pata rehta, baccha, toh Aaj kisi ki himmat nahi hoti humare saamne aapki burai karne ki. Woh jab yeh sab bol raha tha tab hum toh khud hi ascharya me the, ki humari Nupur ne humse apna dard tak nahi baantne ka socha."
["If I had known, bachha, today no one would have dared to speak ill of you in front of me. When he was saying all this, I was surprised myself that my Nupur didn't even think to share her pain with me."]
She held him tightly and replied,
"Nahi chupaenge ab aapse kuch."
["I won't hide anything from you from now on."]
Abhisar nodded his head and kissed on her cheek.
After few minutes, she broke the hug and cupped his cheeks with her hands.
He smiled and raised his brows up.
She asked him with a smile,
"Gussa mat kijiyega."
He nodded his head, "Kahiye na."
"Humare gaon gaye, apne sasural nahi Gaye?".
["You went to my village and didn't visit your in-laws?"]
He held her wrists and moved her palms towards his lips, kissing on them lightly. She smiled widely, on the fact that he didn't get angry.
He replied,
"Door se dekha humne. Shaant tha mahaul. Andar jaane ki himmat nahi Hui Hume. Naa hi aapke babuji Hume andar aane dete."
["I saw from a distance. The atmosphere was calm. I couldn't gather the courage to go inside. Nor did your father would have let me come inside."]
She thinned her brows,
"Kyu nahi aane dete? Damad hai aap Ghar ke."
["Why wouldn't they let you come? You are the son-in-law of the house."]
He looked softly into her eyes,
"Humare hi Bhai ne maara hai aapke dono Bhai ko. Abhi toh 13 din bhi nahi hue."
["My own brother has killed both of your brothers. It hasn't even been 13 days yet."]
He muttered softly,
"Hum le chalenge aapko, agar aapko jaana hai toh. Aapko nahi rokenge woh, beti hai na aap Ghar ki, aapka haq hai."
["I will take you with me if you want to go. They won't stop you, you're their daughter after all, it's your right."]
He saw her eyes getting watery as she moved her hands away.
He cupped her cheek, holding her waist with another.
"Hume pata hai aapko kaisa mehsus hota hoga, Nupur. Par hum kuch nahi kar sakte hai. Humne kabhi socha bhi nahi tha ki humare sasural walon ke sath humara aisa rishta ban jaega. Aap toh samajhti hai na hume? Humne jaan bujh kar dushmani nahi mol Li hai unse, sab kuch bas hota chala gaya."
["I know how you must be feeling, Nupur. But I can't do anything about it. I never imagined that we would have such a relationship with my in-laws. You understand, right? I didn't deliberately cultivate enmity with them, everything just happened."]
He made her lie down on the bed gently and placed her head upon his lap. She held his torso by her hands.
He was stroking her hairs. Silky black hairs.
He muttered, finally,
"Yeh.. yeh humare .. khandan ke bich.. jo purani dushmani hai.. humare baap ki wajah se hai."
["This enmity between our families... it's because of our fathers."]
Her eyes flew up to look into him.
He held her hand and asked,
"Aapko pata hai kya?".
She shook her head, her lips parted.
Without speaking anything, she sat up and moved to sit on his thigh.
He held her by her waist.
She raised her brows.
He stuttered,
"Wo... .aap...aapki.. hum."
She cupped his cheeks, "Hum naraz thodi hi ho rahe aapse. Jo baat hai saaf saaf bataiye Hume."
["I'm not getting angry at you. Just tell me clearly what the matter is."]
He nodded.
Gulping silently, he asked,
"Aapki koi fua thi?".
She nodded, placing her head on his shoulder, she spoke,
"Nahi rahi... Kuch humare jaisa hi.. hua tha unke saath.. maa ne bataya tha ek bar.. ki kisi mard se... Pyaar ho gaya tha unhe.. bas itna fark tha ki.. humne usey hadd paar karne nahi di.. aur fua ne dedi. Pet se thi wo. Uss mard ne apnaya nahi unhe... Aur.. unhone khudkhushi kar li."
["She is no more... Something like what had happened to me had happened to her... Maa had told once... she had fallen in love with a man... the only difference was... I did not let it go beyond limits... and she did. She was pregnant . That man didn't accept her... And... she committed suicide."]
He gritted his teeth, "Mard nahi tha woh. Aisa kaam namard karte hai Nupur."
["He wasn't a man. Only a coward does such things, Nupur."]
She laughed, humourless laugh,
"Hum jhel chuke hai Abhisar. Jisne hume apni chaal me fasaya tha.. woh bhi shadi shuda tha.. bacche the uske.. Hume pata hi nahi tha.. jab pata laga .. toh Abhisar," she looked into his eyes, her expressions changed,
["I have endured it, Abhisar. The one who trapped me in his scheme was also married with children. I had no idea. When I found out, Abhisar..."]
"Toh usne poori gaon me faila Diya ki humne usey 'behkaaya'. Usse chup chup kar Milne jaate the hum, jabki sach yeh tha ki woh humare kamre me chup chup kar aa jaata tha bhaiya se kaam ke bahane. Yahan tak ki usne toh yeh bhi jhuth faila diya ki hum kunwari nahi rahe."
["So he spread rumors throughout the village that I 'seduced' him. I used to secretly meet him when the truth was that he would sneak into my room under the pretext of work with my brother. He even spread lies that I was not a virgin."]
Abhisar grabbed her waist more tightly. And hugged her.
She broke the hug and asked, "Aap kuch keh rahe the?".
He nodded.
Collecting all the courage that he had, he spoke,
"Woh aadmi humara baap tha."
Her jaw dropped.
Her face tensed.
Her eyes widened.
"Sach keh rahe hai?".
He nodded,
"Even I didn't knew, your brother, Vikas, he told me that day. And I was equally shocked."
She held him tightly and asked,
"Toh humari shadi kyu karayi aapse?".
He shrugged his shoulders, "Woh toh hume bhi nahi pata, Nupur."
"Yahi sach ... Hum aapko batana chahte the. Hume dar tha aap humse gussa jaengi."
["That's the truth... I wanted to tell you. I was afraid you would be angry with me."]
She palmed his cheeks, shaking her head,
"Aapse.. aapse kis baat ka gussa Abhisar. Aap toh khud apne pita se nafrat karte hai. Aapne thodi hi unka saath Diya yeh sab me, aap toh khud unke harkat ke shikar ban gaye, Abhisar."
["Why would I be angry with you, Abhisar? You already hate your father. You weren't even a part of this. You were a victim of his actions, Abhisar."]
He nodded.
She placed her head on his shoulder, encircling her hands around his neck.
He hugged her, pulling her close.
She muttered into his ear,
"Ekbar bas, Hume ghar le chaliyega Abhisar. Acha nahi lagta hume, humare Bhai the woh."
["Just once, please take me to my home, Abhisar. It doesn't feel right; they were my brothers."]
He held her arms, pulling her more close as he kissed on her cheek,
"Aap jaisa kahe. Par agar unhone aapse kuch ulta sidha kaha, Nupur, fir dobara himmat nahi karenge hum aapko wahan le jaane ki."
["You decide. But if they say anything disrespectful to you, Nupur, I won't muster the courage to take you there again."]
She nodded and asked,
"Aap chalenge na humare saath?".
"Hum tumhe pahucha denge Ghar Tak. Andar nahi jaenge."
["Will you come with me?"
"I'll drop you home. I won't come inside."]
She traced her nails over his neck and muttered,
"Itna keh diya aapne, utna kaafi hai humare liye. Hume toh ummeed bhi nahi tha ki aap haan bolenge."
["You've said enough, that's all I needed to hear. I didn't even expect you to say yes."]
He smiled, stroking her hairs and muttered,
"Hume bhi nahi tha.. fir socha Humne shaant dimaag se. Yeh dushmani galat bhi toh nahi na, Nupur. Agar koi humari badi didi ke sath Aisa karta, toh humari bhi dushmani hoti. Bas itna.. ki hum kisi ki biwi ya kisi ki maa ko agwa nahi karte badla lene ke liye. Bhaiya ka gussa jayaz tha.. aapko kuch aur lagta hai toh hum uspe apni rai nahi denge, Nupur."
["I didn't expect this either... then I thought calmly. This enmity isn't wrong, Nupur. If someone did this to my elder sister, I'd be enemies too. Just that... I wouldn't kidnap anyone's wife or mother for revenge. My brother's anger was justified... if you think differently, I won't impose my opinion on you, Nupur."]
She nodded, caressing his head.
He pulled himself away from her and placed her on bed gently.
Standing up from the bed, he spoke,
"Raat hogayi bahut, so jaiye."
She held his wrist to stop him and asked,
"Kaha jaa rahe aap?".
He replied quietly,
"Humari aankhon me neend nahi hai. Aap soiye aaram se."
She sat up, on her knees, and moved towards the edge of the bed, only to encircle her hands around his neck.
"Humara aaram toh aapse hai Abhisar, aapke Bina hume aaram Kahan aata hai? Hume bhi le chaliye apne saath," she kissed on his cheek, "warna aaiye humari baahon me, hum Sula denge aapko, aajaegi neend."
["My comfort lies with you, Abhisar. Without you, where do I find peace? Take me with you,".."or come into my arms; I'll put you to sleep, and sleep will come itself."]
He smiled, and cupped her cheek.
He placed his lips upon hers and kissed her gently. Very slowly and smoothly.
She pulled back and held his hand. She moved towards the middle of bed and he followed her, climbing on the bed and sleeping beside her, in her arms.
She ran her fingers into his hair and muttered,
"Humare pyaare bacche."
He snuggled more into her and held her more tightly.
She kissed on his forehead.
He muttered against her skin,
"Hume lagta hai, Nupur,"
"Kya lagta hai Abhisar?".
"Lagta hai."
"Hn?".
"Ki hum chahne Lage hai tumhe."
"Um-hm?".
"Hmm".
"Tumhe kuch Aisa nahi lagta humare liye?".
"Nahi, hume toh nahi lagta."
He raised his face up.
She smiled slightly and pulled his lips with her fingers.
"Aapko toh bas lagta hai Abhisar. Hume toh nischit taur se pata hai ki hum chahte hai aapko."
["You just think that, Abhisar. I am certain that I love you."]
He grinned.
"Pyaari toh ho tum. Chalo so ab. Sharm aagayi hume."
["You are so sweet. Let's sleep now. I feel shy."]
They both laughed.
And then, slowly, shifted to a deep slumber.
